1. MANCHESTER SHIP CANAL The 21st May 1994 will mark the centenart of the official opening of the Manchester Ship Canal by Queen Victoria. This trip will commence from Eastham Docks with a view of Queen Elizabeth II oil dock, wick has a seperate lock access to and from the River Mersey. The trip will also include views of the general cargo berths, ICI, Shell U.K. and Octel with commentary throughout. Lunch will be served on board the vessel prior to disembarking.

2. ICI RUNCORN Participants will be given what is known as the 'Royal Tour' of the Runcorn plant including an insight into land reclamation for nature and the harmony achieved between the plant and the many species of wildlife living nearby. A discussion on Safety Activities, Quality Update, Environmental Issues and the ICI Group will be followed by lunch hosted by ICI.

3. CARGILL TERMINAL LIVERPOOL Cargill process imported soya beans and domestically grow rape seed to produce protein meal for the animal feed industry and oil which is refined for the UK food industry. Cargill operate the only soya bean crushing plant in the UK. They also import non grain animal feed for the domestic market. Aguided tour of the seed crushing plant and non grain storage will be followed by in depth discssion and lunch hosted by Cargill

4. SHELL, STANLOW The Port of Liverpool's Tranmere Oil Terminal feeds out crude oil to Shell's refinery at Stanlow in Cheshire, the UK'S largest petro-chemical complex. Tankers discharge crude oil at the terminal on the Wirral bank of the River Mersey to be piped to the Refinery. Shell's expanding refinery and petro-chemical complex handles feedstocks, petroleum and chemical products. A guided tour of the plant will be followed bt discussion and lunch hosted by Shell.
